HP Ink Cartridge Expiration Date

I was looking for a solution to the same problem before installing Win XP SP2. The only thing I tried was to turn the computer clock back and it worked OK. I bought my original 2000c printer in 1999, however I bought a refill kit and tried to refill the cartridges myself in 2001. Something went wrong and the printer died. Not even brand new cartridges and print heads would bring it back to life. Fortunately I had purchased a five year warranty that went into affect after the original warranty from HP expired. I had finally received my new printer but never used it until this year 2005 when to my dismay I had found that it wouldn't work. That is when I tried the clock trick first and then last week I finally installed XP. XP wiped out all my software that was not compatible with it and that included the HP 2000c software. I tried to reload it but XP wouldn't accept it. XP has it's own drivers and software that works very well. But I went to HP's site http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/DriverDownload.jsp?pnameOID=14475&locale=en_US&taskId=135&prodSeriesId=25517&prodTypeId=18972&swEnvOID=228 and downloaded the XP drivers anyway. Go to control panel, printers, 2000c, right click on the icon, select properties. There you will find everything that you need to set up your printer. If you need to know the ink level click on the services tab where you will be able to print out an ink level page. I hope this helps, Bill Griffin
